Campsite Campaign
CoaST is currently working with the Environment Agency to help Cornish campsites become more sustainable by addressing a range of issues including: waste - helping businesses make sure theirs is under wraps; reducing water consumption; reducing energy consumption and their carbon footprint; communicating with their visitors on environmental issues; protecting and promoting biodiversity as well as helping campsites put flood plans in place. We can then help businesses get the recognition they deserve by getting involved in an award or accreditation scheme such as the Green Tourism Business Scheme or the David Bellamy Award.
There are also two links that are particularly useful - the first is the Environment Agency site, with access to guidance and application forms, the second is the NETREGS site, deliberately designed for small business to get easy access to environmental regulation. (The links are below.) And if you'd prefer to contact a real person who'd be happy to advise, the contacts are: Dan Hambrook 01208 265073 or Mel Hitchings 01208 265076. For more detail, or if you are a campsite that would like more information or a free site visit, just email us at info
