CoaST Visitor Charter ... all over the place ...
The CoaST visitor charter (5 ways to be the best sort of visitor) is dead simple. It's a hugely easy and effective way of helping visitors focus on how to have the best possible impact whilst having the most fantastic holiday in Cornwall. Countless members are using it on their website and in their publicity; it's also being used in Cornwall in the King Harry Ferry guide; the Cornish River guide; the Visitcornwall website; the Little Book of Cornwall; the Cornish Holiday Cottages brochure; it's been in Stranger Magazine and Adventure Cornwall; it's been used and supported by SeaSalt to design a range of post-cards handed out on the Scilly transport links and with clothing purchases at their outlets across Cornwall. And it's been used across the length and breadth of Cornwall. And you'll see it further afield...the Forest of Bowland AONB have already used it, and the New Forest have just asked if they can do the same...essentially the more our visitors become accustomed to their attention being gently drawn to how they can work with us all, everywhere, on making their impact a positive one, the better...this is all about positive behaviour change!
We have a PDF version (what you can see here) and a WORD version, both available to our members for their own use and customisation. And it's one of the most popular things other counties and tourism bodies want to see and use and modify...
See below for how far the visitor charter idea is spreading...let a thousands flowers bloom!
 | Suffolk Visitor Charter
Wee note from Suffolk: "Dear Jemma...For info...taking inspiration from the Fowey AONB Our Kind of Visitor messages, I created a series for local authority brochures in Suffolk which are printed in the destination brochures - attached example. When discussing it, I give full credit to pinching the idea from the COAST network. I just couldn't sleep easy at night if I took full credit for it! Regards Jim Suffolk Tourism Partnership" |

And Fowey Town Forum, in SE Cornwall, developed their very own with thanks to AONB Sustainable Development Funding! |
